Description:

Plant with clump-forming habit; purple-stemmed, lance-shaped foilage; spikes of tubluar, 2-lipped, cardinal red flowers blooming in July-August. Grow in rich moist soil in part sun to part shade. All parts of the plant are thought to be poisonous if ingested.
